Double-sided flexible circuit

A double-sided flexible circuit has a single etched conductive pattern on both sides of a dielectric basefilm. Electrical conductivity from side to side is achieved through plated through holes. A dielectric covering, such as soldermask or coverlayer, is usually applied to both sides to protect the conductors and define component placement areas. Stiffeners or backers can also be added to create selective rigid sections.
